GOOD CULTURE MAKES BETTER FOOD
We source high quality and unprocessed flours, ferment them slowly using our sourdough culture, then bake to perfection.
The result is gut-friendly, nutritious, and delicious! The pies and pastries feature stone-ground Appalachian-wheat from Carolina Ground in Asheville, NC, and seasonal organically grown produce from Shiloh Farm. Meg’s Bread is a dynamic kitchen, always searching for great ingredients to inspire our creative employees.

More About Our Story
Meg’s Bread opened its doors in March of 2020, as a brick and mortar location that could better serve the needs of Cookeville for great artisan bread and pastries. Meghan became “Meg” to many people, and the business started to become a staple of the community.
Meg’s Bread began back in 2017 when Meghan and Luke were selling Shiloh Farm produce at the farmer’s market. They built a wood-fire clay oven and Meghan started baking bread to bring to market alongside the vegetables. The customer response was overwhelmingly positive to the bread, and with pastries added Meghan quickly outgrew their home kitchen.
Zero pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, are used on our farm, relying on natural techniques and good timing to make plants that want to grow. Good culture makes better food.
